Correlation of the private and public in the genre of the reader comment

The article deals with the analysis of reader comments in American media discourse to identify the signs of privacy and publicity in this genre. The relevance of the study of reader comments is due to their significant role in the formation of the public sphere.

Соотношение приватного и публичного в жанре читательского комментария

В статье анализируется читательский комментарий в американском медиадискурсе с целью выявления знаков приватности и публичности в данном жанре. Актуальность изучения читательского комментария объясняется его значимой ролью в формировании публичного пространства. В условиях стремительного развития цифровых технологий и социальных платформ жанр читательского комментария становится важным каналом для ведения публичных дискуссий по насущным вопросам и выражения личного мнения, что порождает проблему разграничения приватного и публичного в изучаемом жанре.

Reader’s comment as a genre of the modern Russian blog sphere

The paper deals with reader comments to blogs in Runet treated as a speech genre. The relevance of the topic lies in the fact that blogging is a common practice of public discussion concerning vital or interesting problems of present day life in Russia. The topics analyzed include social problems, historical issues, literature, ecology and technological progress. The aim of the article is to describe the types of comments to blogs.
