The functions of the “basic models” in the formation of a pastoral-sentimental genre matrix in N. M. Karamzin’s prose (“Wooden Leg”, “Eugene and Julia”)

The article considers the category of “family resemblance” and the related category of “basic models” in the aspect of genre analysis using the example of two early works of N. M. Karamzin: the translation of S. Gesner’s idyll “Wooden Leg” and the first original story “Eugene and Julia”. The theory of “basic models” by J. Lakoff, created by the researcher for the needs of cognitive linguistics, with some reservations and modifications can be applied to the analysis of genre structures of both speech and literary genres.

PROBLEMS OF GENRE IN THE A. F. PISEMSKY’S PROSE EARLY PERIOD

The article deals with the problems of Pisemsky’s prose in early period. It is composed of the four genres: novelette, story, short stories, novel. The stories and novelettes are two parts. They represented «Russian Europeans». Superfluous person represented in story. Byronic hero represented in novelette. Novelette are «point» in final, radical changes Position and opinion of hero. It need to start unpicking the poetical hero. A short story are three parts.

ART AND FICTIONAL DEPARTMENT OF THE ZAVETY MAGAZINE (1912–1914): GENRE VARIETY OF PROSE

In this work the attention on a variety of genres of the prosaic works published in one of “thick” magazines of centenary prescription – “eserovsky” orientation “Precepts” is fixed. From the genre party the art and fictional structure of this periodical only beginning to enter in sight of literary critics wasn’t considered yet. Thus, the relevance of the announced subject is obvious.
