Correlation of the private and public in the genre of the reader comment

The article deals with the analysis of reader comments in American media discourse to identify the signs of privacy and publicity in this genre. The relevance of the study of reader comments is due to their significant role in the formation of the public sphere.

Cultural knowledge as the conceptual basis of the speech genre of religious instruction (based on media discourse)

In the modern media environment covering all fields of human endeavour different types of discourse, religious ones with their genres as well, get representation. The speech genre of religious instruction seems to be most widely spread. The genre under discussion is viewed as a part of the primary genre in the religious discourse – preaching which is presupposed to interpret principles of practical usage of religious postulates and rules.

The interaction of the categories of expressiveness and evaluativity in personal genres of the US media discourse

The aim of the given research is to elucidate the correlation between lexical stylistic (expressive) devices and their contextual evaluative meanings in the genres of blog and column of the US media space. The categories of expressiveness and evaluativity are the most essential for adequate understanding and interpretation of modern media in the context of technological convergence, information exchange speed increase, tangible transformation of genre systems, and increased subjectivity.

Dialogization of discourse and genre in media

The article studies dialogization of media monologue messages aimed at intensifying the interiorization of new information into the addressee’s picture of the world by stimulating a dialogue with the audience. There have been singled out two levels of dialogization–discourse and genre.
