A silent scene in view of the speech genre theory

The article offers the analysis of the communicative potential of the silent scene as a universal phenomenon in view of the speech genre theory. A silent scene is understood as a widely spread speech genre event, during which there appears a speechless psychological effect of perceiving puzzling unexpectedness. The author analyzes structural and functional properties of a silent scene, its semantic horizons and forms of its implementation in speech and fiction.

Genres and roles (The genre structure of drama discourse revisited)

This study analyzes the peculiarities and genre organization of the drama discourse The text of drama is viewed as a hyper-genre determining conceptual, aesthetic and communicative space in which all the characters act as language personalities. Speech-genre competence of characters or language personalities performing life-like roles (among them professional ones) determines their inclusion in some new hyper-genre.

Genres of Socialist Realism “Collected Works” and “Selected Works” from Soviet Political Leaders

The article is devoted to the consideration of the genre “Collected Works”, namely the works of political leaders of the Soviet Union. The object of the study is the collected works of Leonid Brezhnev “Lenin’s course”, published in 9 volumes from 1973 to 1983. Formulated The hypothesis is formulated: the “Collected Works” is a typological variety of the literary metatexts, i.e. the ensemble or composite of several text structures. It is a generic cyclization form of substantive and constitutive characteristics.
