Video game stream as an Internet speech genre

The article presents the analysis of the speech genre “video game stream”, understood as a complex genre formation generated by the streamer’s intention to broadcast video gameplay to the audience over the Internet as well as interact with the audience online. The relevance and novelty of the study are connected with the need to describe the genre diversity of Internet discourse, to identify constitutive features, structural, semantic and pragmatic characteristics of video game stream as a new genre of Internet discourse.

Video reaction, trash review, nostalgic review as new evaluative speech genres of the Internet communication

The article presents the results of the linguopragmatic analysis of three evaluative speech genres of the Internet communication: video reaction, trash review and nostalgic review. The study is based on Russian and English YouTube video blogs. Since video reactions, trash reviews and nostalgic reviews originated from the speech genre “Internet review”, their communicative purpose is to evaluate the quality of some content. Nevertheless, all three genres have a number of specific characteristics.

TRANSFORMATION OF BLOGS AS A GENRE IN INSTANT MESSAGING APPLICATIONS

The article discusses the product of the blog hypergenre’s transformation in modern instant messaging applications as a further development of blogosphere discourse genres using the example of Telegram service. The novelty of blog channels in Russian and international Internet space and their growing popularity determine the relevance of the research.

POTENTIAL CAPACITY OF LINGUISTIC CREATIVITY IN INTERNET COMMUNICATION (BASED ON THE GENRE OF SOCIAL NETWORKS)

The article presents the analysis of some means of linguistic creativity in posts of Russian Facebook subscribers, professionally connected with the word (journalists, liguists, literary critics, psychologists, writers, etc.). Among the most popular and efficient devices there are erratives, graphic accentuation, joined-up words, ellipsis, abbreviations, puns, word creation, English inclusions, borrowed English word-forming models, lituratives.
