The format of the book Telegram channel as one of the most popular and effective tools for the development of book communication demonstrates a new specific property of metatextual reflection – multimodality. In this regard, it seems relevant to determine the functions of the visual mode of presenting information. The article presents the results of the analysis of the use of photographs, emoji, various forms of highlighting a word (font highlighting, underlining, strikethrough) in online reader reviews.
