Abstract:

In different speech situations, a person manifests themselves as a representative of various social roles. People living in apartment buildings acquire the status of neighbors and perform roles corresponding to this status. Neighbors’ communication is goal-oriented: it is aimed at solving everyday problems, strengthening relationships and meeting communication needs. In the modern digital world, neighbors’ communication is increasingly moving into a virtual environment, however, traditional ways of communicative interaction do not lose their relevance. One of these ways is to place announcements in public areas. In this paper announcements by residents of houses, neighbors, aimed at drawing attention to private issues or to negative everyday situations in order to improve the conditions of living together, are considered as a kind of street announcements. The texts of such announcements, unlike other street ads, lack advertising aspects. Neighborhood announcements can be official, unofficial, as well as hybrid, preserving the features of formality and informality. Such announcements are classified as street/house personal announcements. The announcements of neighbors can be considered as a hypergenre, including various speech subgenres (appeals, requests, threats, warnings, forecasts, etc.). As a rule, modern announcements of neighbors have a printed form (made by means of the computer) and contain graphic signs of Internet communication, photos or drawings. Being a monologue in nature and intent, such announcements sometimes, if there are manual postscripts to the main text, take the form of a dialogue. Unlike the official announcements (for example, announcements of the Board of the Homeowners Association), personal unofficial announcements retain anonymity, allowing the addresser to more easily express their opinion, and represent the implementation of colloquial speech with possible inclusions of colloquial and non-literary vocabulary. The texts of such announcements often contain edification, humor and irony. Deviation from the official template promotes the use of rhetorical techniques that enhance the expressive and emotional components of the text, and forces the authors to show linguistic creativity. In general, neighbors’ street announcements of a personal nature reflect the state of modern urban life and indicate the involvement of citizens in public life and the life of their houses.
