The aim of the study is to understand the locus amoenus in the poetry of the High Biedermeier era using the material of the German poetess A. Droste-Hulshoff. Locus amoenus is a sentimental corner in a park or a landscaped area of forest, or a home locus (home, “poetic hut”, house in the wilderness). The studied locus is a beautiful, peaceful time-space which consists of elements typical of the locus amoenus, capturing ancient (love encounters) and sentimental elements, as well as responding to romantic ones (place of creativity).
