Genre base of lingvoimagological analysis
Lingvomagology is a new branch of linguistic theory of communication it describes the image (hence the term) of one people or a country in the linguistic consciousness of other people. lingvoimagology studies its verbalization. The subject of lingvoimagology is an assessment, stereotypes, rituals, precedent phenomena, paralinguistic situations. Naturally, assessment and other mentioned phenomena appear in the texts primarily as individual impressions, however, relying on V.M.Solntsev’s concept, one can state that these individual experiences, on the one hand, are the variants in relation to a similar reception of another author, on the other hand, they are the variants in relation to the invariant - national worldview. Of course, the texts of the brightest and most talented representatives of the people should be analysed in a research paper. The reliability of studies in many ways is provided by the textual material organized in genres. Our data indicate that the most adequate texts for lingvoimagology research are letters, travel notes, some publicist articles, and even works of belles-lettres. The value of the material is primarily stipulated by the talent and personality of the author. As an example, the image of England and the Englishmen created in E. E. Dashkova’s memoirs, D. Fonvizin’s letters, N. Karamzin’s traveler's letters, as well as A. Pushkin’s and N. Gogol’s publicist works are analysed in the article.
