INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION IN RUSSIAN AND AMERICAN STORIES, SEPARATED BY THE XX CENTURY: WHAT DETERMINES QUANTITATIVE RATIOS OF NARRATION TO COMMUNICATION AND DIRECT TO COMPRESSED SPEECH?

The article examines ratios of narrative and communicative components in Russian and American realistic stories at the turn of XIX–XX and XX–XXI centuries, and also the ratios (in these very texts) between two categories of the communicative structure of the text – direct and compressed speech.
