Internet genre of conversation with a priest: The problem of communication efficiency

There is no doubt that the Internet has a huge impact on modern communication and significantly expands its capabilities. Apparently, various genres, including rather conservative religious discourse, are successfully adapting to this new type of online interaction with the mass addressee.

Dialogization of discourse and genre in media

The article studies dialogization of media monologue messages aimed at intensifying the interiorization of new information into the addressee’s picture of the world by stimulating a dialogue with the audience. There have been singled out two levels of dialogization–discourse and genre.

Genre forms in the children’s humoristic magazine “Veselye kartinki”: 1990s

The article is included in the circle of studies related to the study of genre characteristics of texts. The relevance of the study is determined by the changeable nature of speech genres, each of which contains traditional (archaic) genre-forming features, as well as new, changing ones. The aim of the undertaken research was to consider genre forms and features in the children’s comic magazine “Veselye Kartinki”. Issues of the period from 1985 to 1999 were selected as the research material.

Public Internet discussions on faith: The problem of persuasion effectiveness

Considering effective communication, linguists traditionally focus on the type of the addressee and the conditions of their interaction with the addresser. The paper analyzes some transformations of oral genres on the Internet, including public discussions on the role of Orthodox faith in modern life, the functions of the religion in the spiritual and moral education of the contemporary society and its relation to the scientific breakthroughs of the 21st century. The analysis of video materials shows that their main addressee is the youth audience.

A lyrical discourse/text as a speech genre crossover

The author of the article understands lyrical discourses/texts as holistic speech acts, generated by inflamed emotions and a wide range of strong emotional affects which are certainly essentially interactive by nature. The notion of an authocommunicative (in a broader sense – lyrical) speech genre crossover embraces literary and colloquial, primary and secondary speech genres in the form of monologues and dialogues. The permanent feature of all of them is their special insightful stylistic expressiveness.

Administrative announcement as a speech genre

This article is devoted to studying the administrative announcement as a speech genre in Russian language. Administrative announcement is considered as an complex informative and imperative speech genre of natural and official written language, which register changes in communication and culture. Administrative announcement as an administrative and regulating sort of text completes an important role in social interaction regulating.

Genre «letter in the pack»: discursive construction of the addresser and the addressee

The paper focuses on the commercial genre «letter in the pack», specifically on the discursive construction of the addresser and the addressee. Methodologically, the author draws on speech genre theory and social constructionism to demonstrate how the categorized and typified personal experience of the addresser is transmitted onto the addressee and how this results in the construction of the axiologically charged system «addresser – addressee».

THE PECULIARITIES OF THE ORAL NEWS GENRE

The article examines the peculiarities of the oral news genre with special emphasis on meaningful differences from its written form. Apart from the speech pattern, the reported features are determined by the limitations of the addressee’s perception under the conditions of the formal remote communication. It is highlighted that the journalist most often doesn’t know these socalled “pitfalls” or simply is not paying attention to them at the moment of speaking. Each of these “pitfalls” is studied in detail.
